Our benches are made from either FSC Teak, FSC Mahogany, FSC Roble or FSC Karri painted with durable white polyurethane paint.

Our wood of choice has to be Teak when it comes to outdoor furniture. Its silky smooth texture and striped grain add to its beautiful appearance, yet within its soul teak is the most durable hardwood with a lifespan of 25 years plus, due to its naturally high oil content that gives it an impressive resistance to the British weather conditions. Teak is characterised by its natural colours, changing from yellowish brown to a distinguished silvery grey. It does not need any protection yet the choice is there to enhance and restore it to its orginal colour using our teak care products. Our Teak Collection by Alexander Rose comprises both traditional and contemporary styles, and we also use teak in the Avant range of contemporary metal furniture.

The FSC Mahogany used in our benches has a lifespan of twelve years plus and is very strong and resistant to our weather conditions. In time the furniture will change from the typical mahogany reddish-brown to a distinctive silvery grey colour, similar to the teak colour.

FSC Roble is less well known in the UK yet is a durable hardwood, naturally rich in oil and resins. Roble forests are quick growing so are ideal for responsible harvesting in a relatively short time. Our Roble is sourced from Bolivia from FSC managed forests. Roble has a beautiful grain with a yellowish tinge mixed with pinks throughout. With similar qualities to Teak, it is strong and has a natural resistance to weather conditions, having a lifespan of 25 years, perfect for outdoor furniture.
