The Shalimar furniture’s structure is made of tubular metal and hot-galvanised sheet metal submitted to cataphoresis treatment. The chair feet are made of soft, non-slip plastic. The table-top is made of hot dipped galvanised sheet metal, welded on to a thick, laser-cut, sheet metal framework. The perforated table top reproduces the embroidered, sensual, wavy pattern on the seats. The table feet are large and strong to prevent them from sinking into soft surfaces.

EMU Materials

In the manufacturing of its Steel products, EMU uses an alloy combining advanced methods of patented innovative procedures and cutting-edge processing techniques to produce a product that is recognised both for its durability and its style and elegance, a totally recyclable product with its disctinctive powder coated finish.

Aluminium is used for some of the furniture frames, a perfect compound due to its light weight and high resistance to corrosion and oxidisation. To guarantee optimal performance, the metal also undergoes advanced treatments of surface protection.

EMU Wicker is a specially formulated synthetic fibre, combining the aesthetic qualities that closely match those of natural fibres with the advantages of synthetic materials. EMU Wicker is very resistant to outdoor weather conditions, is resistant to both UV light and heat and is not subject to corrosion due to weathering or abrasion. The natural charm of the material is retained and enhanced by the production process of the furniture, during which this material is woven by hand onto each item of furniture and worked in accordance with ancient craft traditions. EMU Wicker furniture is very easy to maintain and carries a 2 year warranty against manufacturing defects.

Teak is the traditional wood of choice used in outdoor furniture due to its universal exotic charm. Teak is a hardwood with a very high oil content, suitable for external use without the necessity of varnishing treatment. Extremely long-lasting, it is practically unalterable to repeated exposure to atmospheric factors. Very easy to maintain if left untreated, the surface takes on a silvery-grey colouring which is the natural protection from inside the wood, considered an essential part of teak’s charm. However, teak treatments are available should you wish to preserve its original colour.

Our glass table tops are made from tempered crystal glass that complies with the International standards BS 6206 and are produced in compliance to standard BS 7376.
