Maxxis Ikon 29″ Tire
The Maxxis Ikon 3C tire is a fast-rolling race-worthy tire designed for cross country and trial riding. The Ikon features small, ramped center tread for low rolling resistance, two sets of transition knobs for leaning the bike and long and blocky side knobs, which dig-in when cornnering. Maxxis outfitted the Ikon with their MaxxSpeed compound, which is their fastest-rolling rubber compound and specializes in low rolling resistance. The outer layer uses two compounds that are specifically formulated to lower rolling resistance and optimize tread-wear and traction, for better performance and a longer life-span. This select model of the Ikon 3C features EXO protection which is a cut and abrasion-resistant fabric insert in the sidewall of the tire. As its name suggests, the Ikon represents all that is true in cross-country mountain bike racing.
