The next step in inner tube technology has arrived. Schwalbe went back to the drawing board when designing the Aerothan tube, reimagining what an inner tube can be. The end result was a tube which sets a new standard for weight, puncture resistance and ride quality—plus it’s 100% recyclable, even the valve. Schwalbe designed the thermoplastic polyurethane material to withstand puncture forces at a rate which far surpasses standard butyl rubber tubes. If the tube does puncture, the TPU material is specifically-designed to avoid sudden air loss. The advantages don’t stop there, as the Aerothan tubes reduce rolling resistance, on par with latex tubes but at an even lighter weight. Aerothans are also extremely compact, making them ideal for carrying as spares.
