Maxxis is back with a brand-new gravel tire. The Maxxis Receptor 650b Tire is a gravel rider’s dream tire, featuring a semi-slick center tread, combined with a small knobs on the outskirts of the tire for cornering grip. This tire excels on pavement but was designed for use off-road as well, making for a versatile gravel tire that allows you to keep on riding when the pavement runs out. The Receptor has EXO protection for enhanced cut and abrasion-resistance on the sidewalls and is tubeless-ready so you can run your tires tubeless for less weight and more traction. Maxxis went with their dual-compound rubber, which uses two separate rubber compounds for an excellent balance between grip and low rolling resistance. For an ultra-supple tire, Maxxis went with a 120 TPI casing, which provides a lightweight and supple casing that conforms to the ground and keeps the weight to a minimum.
